Egypt’s “For Heaven’s Sake Icarus” wins the best theatrical performance Award
Khaled Raafat is the best actor, Asmaa Al-Sheikh is the best actress, and Gia Dimitri is the best director

Dr. Neveen Al-Kilany, Minister of Culture, handed the awards of the CIFET 30th edition, in the presence of Dr. Sameh Mahran, President of the Festival, and the Ministry of Culture leaders, during the closing ceremony of the festival, held this evening, Friday, in the Cairo Opera House main hall
Dr. Neveen Al-Kilany congratulated the winners and encouraged them to continue the hard work. She also welcomed the festival’s guests as well as all of the participating theater troupes
The festival’s official competition jury is chaired by theater director, Essam El-Sayed, along with the membership of Ahmed Kamal (Egypt), Jihad Saad (Syria), Ezz El-Din Bonet (Morocco), Giles Foreman (England), Asiimwe Deborah (Uganda), and Raluca Gabriela (Romania)
The jury decided to award certificates of appreciation to the performances: “Antigone” from Lithuania, “File 12” from Iraq, and “The man who was eaten by papers” from Egypt
Best Lighting Award, worth 100,000 Egyptian pounds, goes to the Iraqi performance “File 12″, Abbas Kassem
Best theatrical script award, worth 100,000 Egyptian pounds, goes to the Congo performance, Michael Fabrice
Best actor award, worth 100,000 Egyptian pounds, goes to Egypt’s Khaled Raafat for his performance as the father in “Icarus
Best actress award, worth 100,000 Egyptian pounds, goes to Asmaa El-Sheikh for her performance in the Algerian “Nostalgia
Best Theater Director Award, worth 100,000 Egyptian pounds, goes to Gia Dimitri for the Georgian performance “Othello
Best theatrical performance, worth 500,000 Egyptian pounds, goes to the Egyptian performance “For Heaven’s sake, Icarus
