The stars were all glammed up for the CIFET 30th edition’s opening.

Celebrities and stars flocked to the Cairo Opera House for the opening ceremony of the CIFET 30th edition, which will run until September 8th and feature 19 performances from Egypt, Arab and foreign countries.
A number of celebrities were eager to attend, elegantly dressed. Egyptian stars were all glammed up in soft looks, decent and simple gowns, as well embracing various and modern fashion trends.
Jabbar Judy, head of the Iraqi Artists Syndicate, Saudi artist Ibrahim Al-Asiri, Iraqi journalist Majed Lafta, Kuwaiti journalist Mufreh Al-Shammari, and Abdullah Al-Shehhi, director of the Ajman Theatre, all attended the ceremony’s start.
The most prominent attendees included writer Ismail Abdullah, secretary-general of the Arab Authority for Theatre, writer Ghannam Ghannam, head of the Arab Authority for Theater’s media center, Sultan Al-Bazai, Saudi theatre producer and CEO of the Theatre and Performing Arts Commission, Abdul Ilah Al-Sinani, president of the Riyadh Theatre Festival, and Ambassador Ali Al-Mahdi.
The Egyptian attendees of the opening ceremonies included superstars Samiha Ayoub, Nancy Salah, Hani Al-Tamburi, Yasser Ezzat, Adel Hassan, Mohsen Mansour, director Islam Imam, Samira Abdel Aziz, director Mohamed Morsi, director Gamal Yaqout, Sameh Al-Suraiti, Hamdi Al-Wazir, director Mazen Al-Gharabawi, Fikri Sadiq, Liqaa Sweidan, Jamal Al-Adl, and Dr. Medhat Al-Adl.
CIFET is held under the auspices of Dr. Nevine El Kelany, Minister of Culture. Dr. Sameh Mahran, Festival president Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rahman El Shafei, General Coordinator Dr. Dina Amin and Dr. Ayman Al Shewi, Directors, along with Dr. Ahmed Megahed, Dr. Asmaa Yahya Al-Taher, Dr. Mohamed Samir Al-Khatib, and Ahmed Elbohy, Theatre Director, serve on the festival’s supreme Committee.
Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre is one of the world’s oldest and renowned Arab festivals dedicated to promoting and presenting experimental theatrical performances from all over the world. The festival aims to foster communication and dialogue among various peoples and groups, as well as to introduce audiences in Egypt and the Arab region to the latest theatre trends and to let playwrights from all over the world to keep up with the latest developments and updates in the Egyptian and Arab theater.
